About the role:
Ready to take the next step in your retail leadership journey? As an Assistant Designate Manager, you'll be at the heart of a fast-paced Checkers Hyper store, working alongside an experienced Management Team to learn what it takes to run a successful retail operation from the ground up. This exciting development role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all areas of the business, from leading teams and driving sales to managing stock, operations, and delivering outstanding customer service. Every day presents a new challenge and a new opportunity to grow your skills, build confidence, and make a real impact. If you're passionate about retail, enjoy leading people, thrive in a dynamic environment, and are eager to build a rewarding career with one of South Africa's leading retailers, this role is the perfect stepping stone. We are looking for driven, energetic, and customer-focused individuals who are ready to learn, grow, and take on the exciting challenge of becoming future store leaders.

What you'll do:
Participate actively in a comprehensive training programme to develop expertise in store operations, team leadership, and customer engagement. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to enquiries and effectively resolving complaints to ensure customer satisfaction. Support sales monitoring activities by analysing sales reports and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain visually appealing product displays that comply with company merchandising standards and enhance the shopping experience. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant retail environment. Collaborate with team members to foster a positive and productive working atmosphere. Contribute to stock management processes, including receiving, organisation, and replenishment. Assist in implementing promotional activities and in-store marketing initiatives as directed by management. Continuously seek opportunities to develop professional skills and knowledge relevant to retail operations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and SAP software platforms. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
