Job Title:
Health and Nutrition Project Officer
Responsibilities:
- Supervise health and nutrition activities in supported health structures
- Ensure infection prevention and control measures are implemented
- Monitor the quality of care, medication consumption, and treatment protocols
- Work with partners and coordinate with BCZ supervisor and other partners
- Provide on-the-job training and support to health workers
- Ensure health education messages are regularly disseminated
- Ensure all supported providers respect PCI norms at all times
- Collaborate with community health workers to set up community surveillance systems
- Ensure awareness materials are available and used by health promoters
- Participate in communication committee to strengthen community engagement
- Provide technical support to health promoters if needed
- Ensure all health care providers are aware of child protection policy and risks
- Ensure correct archiving of all project documents and availability of verification sources
- Collect, validate, and analyze health information and share with MEAL
Safeguarding Roles:
- Report all safeguarding allegations according to local procedures
- Alert any safeguarding suspicions according to local reporting procedures
- Participate in investigations on reported safeguarding allegations and cases
- Report partner and other stakeholder cases to safeguarding focal points
- Contribute to the identification and analysis of initial and emerging safeguarding risks
Qualifications:
- University degree (minimum Bachelor's / Licence) in nursing or public health
- Minimum two years of professional experience in health and nutrition programs
- Ability to work in a health emergency context (Ebola) and strictly follow infection prevention and control measures
- Excellent written and spoken French
- Availability for frequent travel and residence in intervention zones
- Knowledge of the context of Ituri province and local community dynamics
- Knowledge of Swahili or other relevant local languages
Experience and Skills:
- At least three years of professional experience in health and nutrition
- At least two years of proven experience in humanitarian project management
- Proficiency in French and good knowledge of English
- Proficiency in computer tools: Word/Excel/Power Point, etc.
Desirable:
- Proven experience in field report writing
- Data analysis
