Job Title: Attorney (VAF Legal Recoveries)

Salary negotiable on experience
Minimum Requirements:
- LLB & Admitted Attorney
- 3–5 years’ experience in legal collections / recoveries
- Exposure to secured lending litigation (advantageous)
- Experience in high-volume litigation environments
- 2–3 years’ team management experience
- Strong **Excel skills** (essential)
Key Duties:
- Manage high-volume litigation from summons to judgment and recovery
- Draft and review pleadings, summons, and judgment packs
- Oversee **vehicle recoveries, voluntary surrenders, and settlements**
- Monitor performance, trends, and risk within the portfolio
- Lead and manage legal secretaries and admin staff
- Maintain accurate system and workflow updates (e.g. Cheetah)
- Liaise with sheriffs, correspondent attorneys, and clients
- Handle queries, escalations, and legal risks
- Report on performance and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with NCA, Prescription Act, FICA & Debt Collectors Act
- Magistrates’ & High Court Rules
- Companies Act, CPA & Municipal legislation
- Manage billing, reporting, and financial targets
