Job Title: Attorney (VAF Legal Recoveries)

Sandton

Salary negotiable on experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • LLB & Admitted Attorney
  • 3–5 years’ experience in legal collections / recoveries
  • Exposure to secured lending litigation (advantageous)
  • Experience in high-volume litigation environments
  • 2–3 years’ team management experience
  • Strong **Excel skills** (essential)

Key Duties:

  • Manage high-volume litigation from summons to judgment and recovery
  • Draft and review pleadings, summons, and judgment packs
  • Oversee **vehicle recoveries, voluntary surrenders, and settlements**
  • Monitor performance, trends, and risk within the portfolio
  • Lead and manage legal secretaries and admin staff
  • Maintain accurate system and workflow updates (e.g. Cheetah)
  • Liaise with sheriffs, correspondent attorneys, and clients
  • Handle queries, escalations, and legal risks
  • Report on performance and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with NCA, Prescription Act, FICA & Debt Collectors Act
  • Magistrates’ & High Court Rules
  • Companies Act, CPA & Municipal legislation
  • Manage billing, reporting, and financial targets
