About the role:
The Operations Manager (Passenger Fleet) position is responsible for driving operational discipline and performance at scale for all passenger vehicles across all regions, ensuring optimal availability, regional coordination, supplier SLA compliance and adherence to turnaround time targets.

What you'll do:
Fleet Operations Execution - Manage and oversee the daily operational performance of the passenger fleet - Ensure optimal fleet utilisation, availability, and service delivery - Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks impacting efficiency and turnaround times - Drive consistent execution of fleet processes across all regions Regional Coordination & Management - Coordinate and align operations across multiple regions through Fleet Coordinators - Provide clear direction, support, and accountability to regional teams - Ensure consistency in operational standards and service delivery across regions Supplier Management & Performance - Manage and monitor performance of all fleet-related service providers - Ensure suppliers deliver in line with agreed SLAs, turnaround times, and cost expectations - Address performance gaps and implement corrective actions where required - Build strong working relationships to ensure operational continuity Process & Asset Compliance - Ensure adherence to all operational processes, policies, and procedures - Drive compliance related to vehicle licensing, maintenance, and safety requirements - Maintain strong controls over fleet assets to minimise risk and loss - Ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal and regulatory standards Operational Discipline & Continuous Improvement - Drive a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and process adherence - Implement and monitor KPIs (e.g., turnaround times, downtime, utilisation) - Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions - Ensure accurate and timely reporting on fleet performance Stakeholder Management - Engage with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure alignment - Influence and secure buy-in for operational improvements and initiatives - Communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organisation Team Leadership - Lead and manage 3 Regional Fleet Coordinators - Set clear performance expectations and monitor delivery - Coach and develop team capability - Ensure accountability and high performance standards

What you bring:
Requirements for position: Tertiary education: Matric (Grade 12) plus a relevant qualification in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous. Previous experience 3–5 years’ experience in a fleet operations, logistics, or transport environment. Proven experience managing operations across multiple regions and managing suppliers/SLAs is essential. Experience managing a large-scale fleet is preferred. Knowledge and Skills Strong execution and action orientation Process-driven with high attention to detail Proven leadership, coaching, and team management capabilit Sound knowledge of fleet compliance, licensing, and supplier SLA management Ability to manage operational scale and complexity Strong organisational and multi-regional coordination skills Effective problem-solving and decision-making ability Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skill
