Job Description and Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in development initiatives, promote disability inclusion, facilitate access to essential services, and build capacities of staff and community partners in disability awareness and best practices.
Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Capacity Building (20%)
- Develop community involvement processes
- Assess and build community capacity
- Facilitate community participation in disability interventions
- Build relationships with communities and stakeholders
- Conduct awareness campaigns and community sensitization
- Identify capacity gaps and develop training plans
- Provide technical assistance for accessibility improvements
- Promote inclusive education through teacher/parents training
- Mentor and coach community groups on disability inclusion
- Build capacity of volunteers/parents/community members on case management
Disability Programming and Child Well-Being (20%)
- Ensure access to quality education and healthcare services
- Provide early support and assessments
- Address dietary needs and feeding challenges
- Offer caregiver training and create support networks
- Reduce stigma and increase understanding
- Advocate for physically accessible environments
- Gather data and conduct research on disability issues
- Train staff, communities, and local organizations on disability inclusion
- Establish and maintain inclusive child-friendly spaces
- Facilitate Case Management implementation
Program Planning, Implementation, Monitoring & Learning (30%)
- Develop inclusive program design
- Promote accessible services and infrastructure
- Facilitate data and knowledge generation
- Facilitate capacity building and training
- Facilitate iterative learning processes
- Report high-risk incidents
Collaboration & Partnership Development (15%)
- Establish community networks and partnerships
- Empower individuals with disabilities through training
- Establish partnerships with disability-focused organizations
- Advocate for policy changes
- Engage in cross-sector collaborations
- Collaborate with stakeholders for disability inclusion
Child Protection, Disability, Advocacy & Policy Engagement (15%)
- Facilitate policy compliance
- Support local advocacy efforts
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities
- Monitor changes in disability-related policies
- Engage with government agencies and stakeholders
- Represent World Vision at national/district task forces
- Participate in global/regional child protection and GESI initiatives
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in relevant field such as Education, Inclusive or Special Needs Education, Social Sciences, Disability Studies, Development Studies or any other relevant fields
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and project management skills
- Achieving quality results & service,

- Building collaborative relationships, Influencing individuals & groups.
Working Relationships
- Community Leaders, Government Agencies, Community Disability Groups, Other Technical Program Coordinators, Nonprofit Organizations and Advocacy Groups.
