Grants Officer

Job Description

We are expanding our team with a grants officer. This is a voluntary and unpaid position suitable for an early career professional with at least a basic familiarity with proposal, project, or programme development and reporting. The selected candidate will lead/support the development and submission of grant proposals and budgets and identify new funding opportunities for sustainable growth of the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Donor mapping: Identify new funding opportunities, screen potential donors, and develop and maintain a database of potential funding opportunities
• Proposal development: Lead/support the development and submission of grant proposals and budgets. Includes coordinating and planning with other colleagues in the Platform.
• Grant administration and compliance: Oversee the grant cycle (pre-award to closeout), ensuring adherence to donor requirements, policies, and legal standards.
• Fundraising: Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to meet financial goals. Cultivate relationships with a wide variety of donors, including public, corporate, foundations, etc.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in proposal, project, or programme development and reporting.
• Familiarity with donor rules, regulations, and procedures, including but not limited to UN and EU agencies and key donor countries.
• Experience with fundraising campaigns or corporate partnerships is a plus
• Passion and dedication to mission and values of the organisation, result-driven commitment, ability to work in an international team and handle uncertain situation with flexibility
• Good knowledge of English (min. C1)
• Willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills
• Strong time management skills and organised
